Kids Club Little Makers

The club is designed for children aged 6–9 who already want to experiment with clay a bit more and get into real hand-building. The children will gradually learn to work with basic shapes, such as a coil or a slab, and then turn them into their own ideas, from animals and figures to bowls and other pieces.

  • Small groups, max 6 kids
  • Materials and firing included
  • Take your finished pieces home

Over four sessions the children will try the whole process of working with ceramics, from hand-building itself through smoothing and finishing the piece to decorating it. They'll learn to work with basic shapes, such as a ball, a coil or a slab, and gradually turn them into their own ideas, animals, figures, bowls and other pieces.

We work in a small group without parents present, led by an instructor who stays close to the children the whole time. They help when needed, show new possibilities and at the same time leave plenty of room for the children's own ideas and independent creating.

What's in store

Hand-building basics

We'll get to know clay a little more in depth. The children will try the basic shapes, a ball, a coil or a slab, and learn how to join them and turn them into something specific.

From idea to piece

From simple shapes we'll start building our own creations. We'll make animals, bowls, figures and other objects straight from the imagination. Along the way, the children will find out how to take an idea from their head and give it real form.

Creating step by step

Some pieces don't come together in a few minutes. So we'll learn to work gradually, come back to unfinished work and, above all, see it through to the end. The children naturally practise patience, focus and fine motor skills along the way.

Decorating and glazing

Once a piece is finished, the work isn't over yet. The children will learn to embellish, decorate and glaze their pieces and see how colour and surface can completely change the final look. Everyone finishes their piece according to their own imagination and taste.

A piece that works

At the end of each session we want to have something that has a purpose and that the children can take home with pride. A bowl you can put something in, a figure that can decorate a shelf, or an animal the children dreamed up themselves. It's not just about a pretty piece, but the joy of having made it on their own.

Finished pieces from the club

As soon as the pieces are finished and ready for pickup, we'll let you know. We'll keep you informed about everything by e-mail, so you'll know exactly when you can come and collect your children's creations.

We want children to take home not only the joy of creating itself, but also something they truly made with their own hands.

Important booking information

The club is short-term and consists of only four lessons. That's why only one missed lesson can be made up within the course.

If you know your child won't be able to attend a lesson, please let us know as soon as possible. You can excuse your child by phone or e-mail directly with the instructor.

We understand that with children, plans sometimes change from one day to the next. But if you let us know in time, we can arrange a make-up lesson and also plan the individual lessons better.
