Our monthly course is split into four sessions (once a week for 2 hours) and is designed so you can enjoy the whole process – from the first touch of clay all the way to the final glazing.
During the first three lessons we'll focus on hand building itself. We'll show you how to work with ceramic clay, how to use moulds and templates, and you'll learn various techniques you can then combine however your imagination takes you. It's entirely up to you whether you create one elaborate piece or a whole collection of smaller things – cups, bowls, plates or maybe some home decorations. You can take home up to 10 of your own pieces.
The last, fourth lesson belongs to glazing and decorating. Together we'll go through how engobes work, how to handle them and how to use them for decorating. We'll also look at working with powdered glazes and explain how to glaze your pieces properly so they're not just pretty but also functional and ready for everyday use.
On the course you have several kinds of ceramic clay at your disposal, plus a wide range of glazes, engobes and ceramic crayons – simply everything you need to create. No need to bring anything, just come and start.
The atmosphere is an important part of the course too. During the lessons we light candles, play calm music and create a space where you can feel good and truly relax. It's not just about ceramics, it's about time for yourself.
At every lesson we have a little refreshment ready for you – water, lemonade, tea, coffee and something nice to go with it. And at the first lesson we'll open a bottle of prosecco together and toast to a creative month ahead.
Everything you learn with us can then be put to use in our self-service studio activities. You can come back any time and carry on creating on your own.
We'll fire your finished pieces after the course, and within about 2 weeks you'll get an email from us with the details of picking up your finished ceramics.

Cancellation policy and make-up sessions
This is a multi-session course (4 sessions):
We understand that sometimes you may not be able to attend (e.g. due to illness). In that case it is possible to make up one lesson.
Make-up dates are always scheduled by us according to our capacity, so it's good to count on this in advance.
Withdrawal from purchase:
If you purchase the course online, you have the legal right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of purchase and request a refund to your account.
