We are the first self-service ceramic studios in the Czech Republic, in Prague and Brno, a space where you create at your own pace, your own way.

We run on the principle of trust, without instructors constantly present, but with maximum freedom. You'll find everything you need for ceramics here. And if you're not sure about something, we'll gladly point you in the right direction at our courses and workshops.

Read the story of Kera

Nikol, founder of KERA

My name is Nikol and ceramics has been with me for most of my life. I didn't just study clay. Above all, I gradually built a deep relationship with it. For me, it's a way to slow down, clear my head, and be here and now.

I'm the owner of KERA studio, behind both its founding and its everyday running. I do custom production and also create all the ceramic products you'll find in the e-shop. Every piece is made by hand, with an emphasis on simplicity, functionality, and timeless design.

KERA is a very personal project for me, one that connects craft, calm, and sharing. As a mum, I feel the need for balance, slowing down, and space for creating even more strongly, for myself and for others. That's exactly what I'd like people to take away from KERA.

KERA story
KERA story

KERA was born as the first self-service ceramic studio in the Czech Republic, out of the need to create a place that's here for you without pressure, without judgement, and without expectations. A place you can come to just as you are, and simply create. Clay is the means here, not the goal.

I started developing this whole concept back in 2017, when I first offered instructor-led lessons and ceramic production. Over time I felt it could be more than just a classic studio with instructors, that people could create freely here, at their own pace. In 2018–2019 the first ideas of a self-service studio took shape, one that would offer space and support while letting everyone create their own way. That's when it became clear this way of working could be natural and sustainable in the long run.

KERA story

From the beginning, this space was built as a safe and open place that grows together with the people who enter it. A big part of the whole process is my team: people who over the years have brought a wealth of experience, sensitivity, and care into the studio. Thanks to them, the studio keeps evolving, learning, and maturing.

For me, it's not just a studio. I see it as a kind of older sister: calm, patient, and supportive. Someone who has your back in ceramics when you're unsure, who gives you room to make mistakes, and who will always be here for you. No pressure, no rush, just open arms and clay on the table.

KERA grows slowly and naturally. Thanks to the people who create it and those who come to it. And that's exactly where its strength lies.
